Service/Parts Advisor

Michael Lyng Motors is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Advisor / Parts Advisor to join our team in Kilkenny. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, managing service bookings and supporting the efficient operation of our Service and Parts Departments.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Manage customer enquiries, service bookings and vehicle reception 

• Provide professional service advice and prepare accurate quotations 

• Identify, order and sell vehicle parts 

• Maintain accurate parts stock and inventory records 

• Liaise with customers, technicians and parts suppliers

• Prepare job cards, invoices and warranty claims 

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Service and Parts Departments 

• Build strong customer relationships and contribute to customer satisfaction and sales

• Previous experience in automotive, service advising or parts is an advantage 

• Excellent communication and customer service skills 

• Strong organisational and administrative abilities

Ford trained technician wanted for a growing and busy workshop environment at Michael Lyng Motors in Kilkenny.

About the Role

Michael Lyng Motors is seeking a highly motivated, fully qualified Ford motor technician to join our professional aftersales team. The successful candidate will work with modern diagnostic systems, carry out high-quality repairs and servicing, and deliver excellent customer satisfaction in line with Ford manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Ford vehicles to manufacturer standards 
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using advanced diagnostic equipment 
• Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional repair requirements 
• Perform warranty repairs accurately and efficiently 
• Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and within allocated times 
• Maintain detailed and accurate job records 
• Work collaboratively with service advisors and workshop team members 
• Keep up to date with Ford technical training and new vehicle technologies 

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Ford Motor Technician
• Ford certification highly desirable 
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability 
• Full clean driving licence 
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Good communication and customer service skills
